The Parkdale Pail Project

Keeping your Neighbourhood Clean

0 notes

Hello Neighbours,For sometime I have been toying with the idea of having a small garbage can or pail to divert trash off the sidewalks, garden and lawns in our neighbourhood.
Introducing the “Parkdale Pail”.
This grassroots initiative will allow a passerby to deposit there garbage and cans into the “Parkdale Pail”.
The homeowner or tenant of the home the ‘Parkdale Pail” resides would periodically clean out the refuse.
The pail will essential be a commercial size paint bucket or commercial pail that are used in the construction and food service industry.
The label affixed to it will have clear instructions of it purpose and it can be secured to your fence, via a cheap cable lock  or in a garden via a post or ring like bucket holder (All of these scenarios are under development)
I am am currently in my lab/garage developing a prototype, that I plan on showing the Parkdale BIA and Councillor Gord Perks.
As this is a labour of love and a volunteer project, I also plan on gaining financial support to properly build decent looking and functional pails.
I hope to get some small funding maybe $500.00 to $1500.00 purchased buckets, graphic design and vinyl sticker printing and small steel fence mounts or cable locks holders developed for the pail.
But I will also be developing a number of beta version prototypes of the the “Parkdale Pail” from buckets I own and from the simple labels I have developed (attached pdf) to install on Ohara and around Parkdale to study if they are being used.
My hope is that all “Parkdale Pails” will be FREE of chargePlease send me your thoughts and if your would like to put a pail in front or at the rear of your property and pass this email on your neighbours in Parkdale and Roncee.Your Neighbour DarrenContact me at parkdalepail@gmail.com
